Perfect Prime Rib
Four easy steps for a juicy, flavorful prime rib
1. PREHEAT & SEASON
Set oven to 350°F. Remove roast from packaging and season generously with salt and pepper or your favorite rub. Place seasoned roast fat side up on a rack in a roasting pan. Do not cover the roast or add water.
2. ROAST
Remove roast from oven when internal temperature reaches 120°F for medium rare or 130°F for medium doneness. Use a meat thermometer to ensure the roast is cooked to the preferred doneness.
3. REST
Transfer to carving board and tent loosely with aluminum foil. Let stand for 15 to 20 minutes. The temperature will continue to rise about 10°F.
4. SERVE
Slice against the grain of the prime rib and serve.
